I've been in management for many years and have been at a new company for less than three months. The company is very informal and casual. I only have two employees so far in my department which is somewhat isolated and tight knit. You can't control what life throws at you and I usually try to keep really personal stuff out of the workplace but today I found out some shocking news dealing with my x. I did break down at work and opened up to my two staff. They were very supportive and one even gave me a hug. I know we are all humans and can't lock up our emotions but I don't want to cross the line either. The last manager didn't work out because she was too corporate. The drama is over and done with. I should probably just forget it and move on; chalk it up as a bad day as it's not likely to happen again. Any advise on saving face going forward?
