It depends on how large you are and how long the employee has been with your organization.If you are large enough to be covered by the Family Medical Leave Act or a State law which is similar (50 employees for the FMLA)and the employee quakifiesfor coverage the employee can be out for up to 12 weeks unless you can prove an undo hardship.
