Good Morning. We have an employee who has taken a leave of absence for psychological reasons after a divorce. His psychiatrist has prescribed medication and said that he may return to work July 16th. As of July 16th, this employee will have been absent for 6 weeks. We are a printing company, and this employee is the only one experienced to run a particular press. In his absence, we are subcontracting the work to an outside vendor. My question is how long do we need to hold a position for this employee? And if on July 16th it is found that he cannot return to work or returns to work and is unable to successfully perform his duties, is that a means for termination? Thank you very much.
