"I don't get it. I hire these fresh-out-of-college accounting grads, and they don't want to work. They just want to spout off all their big ideas for changing the company. Why can't they just put their head down and get to work?"

Its a nicely articulated, thought-provoking article...makes a lot of sense if one were to read it with an open mind. I think it would be pragmatic for us to appreciate and respect the uniqueness of the various generations and leverage the common aspects.

Thanks for the article post. The piece that get's lost in people's mind with regards to this issue is the Developmental aspect. What technology has done to shape Gen Y's attention creates a number of challenges for Boomer managers. As a facilitator, I'd agree the focus of the conversation is about power and control. And bottom-line it's about having very clear expectations through regular communication. http://www.OrangeSliceTraining.com

This is an excellent article. We have delivered a number of workshops on Multigenerational Perspectives in the Workplace and have received very good feedback. A fitting topic as we approach the crazy turnover from Boomers - GenX and Millennials
