Talent Management & Succession Planning in Healthcare
|
Successful organizations are realizing that talent management is far more than mere succession planning or leadership development. The effects of the economic recession have made employees look at their employers more critically.
With that, organizations need to take a more strategic and proactive view of talent management. Employees have willingly admitted in surveys that when the economy recovers, they are contemplating looking for new employers.
Statistics from the Center for Work-Life Policy show that employees who professed loyalty to their employers dropped from 75 percent to 30 percent and the voicing trust in the company has fallen from 79 percent to 22 percent.
These statistics are proof that organizations need to be more aggressive in the initiatives they create to retain key talent. Other high impact concerns include labor shortages at all skill levels, demographic shifts leading to a shortage of high-skilled workers, the overall decline in workforce readiness and growing need to develop retention strategies.
Clinton Wingrove, Executive Vice President and Principal Consultant for Pilat Solutions, discusses with Human Resources IQ how organizations can apply more strategic and proactive approaches to talent management.
This session will:
- Explore the shortfalls in traditional succession planning
- Review a contemporary wider talent management model
