I left company A after 2 months service and took a job that was more money and closer to home as well as being a better opportunity for advancement. I was recently laid off (who knew?) and now I have an interview with company A again and I'm sure they will ask why I left the first time. How do I put a positive spin on this?

Good answer Melman. I would also like to add that what they are really going to be interested in is whether you will leave again if you get an offer with more money and/or closer to home. As a hiring manager I would want to hear that looking back you realize that Company A was the better company and you plan to stay this time.
